About Me

Works in Progress

Born and raised in California, Nancy Cochran didn’t discover reading for pleasure until she was 17.  Before that, reading always meant school work. Although, Nancy had a vivid imagination, and made up plays and wrote books in her head during her childhood and teenage years.

At the tender age of 19 she wrote her first book and quickly finished it.  A story with a hero who was a companion and race car driver -- not exactly what the market wanted.  Undaunted, she went on to pen her second novel, set in the world of publishing.  (Another hard sell.)  Her third novel, the book of her heart, was set in the world of movies, another "no-no" at that time in romance.

The writing lapsed for a while, as Nancy went back to school and entered the working world.  But her dream never really died, and in 1992 she decided to join RWA and get serious about getting published.  Judging by the quality of her rejection letters, Nancy knows she's "this close" to publication.

When not writing or reading, Nancy loves to spend time with her family, which includes her parents, a brother and sister, ten nieces and nephews and fifteen great nieces and nephews.  With the pressure of having children taken from her shoulders, Nancy has assured everyone the only “babies” she plans on bringing into the world are her stories.

Nancy loves to travel and while she is still open to finding her own tall, dark and handsome man, she’s enjoying the journey her life has taken.

“My dream,” she says, “is to give my readers as much pleasure with my stories as writers have given me.”
